Lauren Cornelius 42cast The 42cast is proud to welcome the newest addition to the ranks of the Doctor’s companions with Lauren Cornelius. Lauren is currently playing the role of Dodo Chaplet in First Doctor Adventures from Big Finish productions. In this interview Lauren sits down with us to talk about how a shy girl from Camden Town became the actress that we know today. Along the way we discuss her favorite types of stories, acting under lockdown, and what she enjoys about the character of Dodo. We also talk about her interests aside from acting and her experiences recording several different Doctor Who adventures.

We are proud to welcome back Eric and Julia Lewald as well as Larry Houston to our show. Marvel recently announced that a continuation of the ground-breaking X-Men: The Animated Series would stream on Disney+ under the title X-Men ’97. Eric, Julia, and Larry come on the show to talk about their role as consultants for the new series and what they can tell us about the new series. Along the way we discuss their book, X-Men: The Art and Making of The Animated Series as well as their memories of the classic series. We also take a moment to discuss Michael Edens who passed several months ago, but was one of the main writers and creative forces behind the original animated series.

Sadie Miller 42 The 42cast is proud to present our interview with Sadie Miller. Miller is the daughter of actress Elizabeth Sladen who was best known for playing Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who as well as in The Sarah Jane Advenutres. In this episode Miller talks growing up and gives various details about her mother and her exposure to Doctor Who. She also discusses her feelings about playing Sarah Jane Smith in audio dramas for Big Finish and gives her insights into the character. We also get her opinions about Doctor Who, her favorite stories, and what she thinks about K-9 and Company.

The 42cast is proud to welcome one of the stars of the hit CW series, Superman & Lois with Alex Garfin. Alex plays Jordan Kent on the series, one of the children of Clark Kent and Lois Lane. In this episode Jordan sits down with us to discuss topics ranging from depictions of mental health in television to why the KFC image looks like a little man with a large head. He also talks about super suits, making television under Covid conditions, and family dynamics on television. Along the way we manage to work Star Trek into a lot of different discussions.

The 42cast Episode 105: The Skyler Samuels Interview

In this episode, Nathan sits down to talk with Skyler about her beginning in acting and the pressures and positives of being a child star. They discuss The Nine Lives of Chloe King, what Skyler enjoyed about the role, how she feels about the series now, and ask the all-important Team Brian or Team Alek question. They also do a deep dive on The Gifted. Skyler talks about the cast and crew and how well they all geled together. Nathan asks her about the X-Men franchise and how she feels about her place in it. They also get into the technicalities of an actress duplicating herself and end up geeking out about Orphan Black. They also discuss their mutual love of dogs and Skyler talks about dog rescue and how the Gifted cast and crew were all dog lovers. They also talk about the possibility of The Gifted cast ever getting together to do a virtual panel and Nathan receives a surprise endorsement. Skyler finishes by talking about one of her upcoming projects.

The 42cast Episode 99: The Larry Houston Interview

Houston Cartoons The 42cast is proud to welcome Larry Houston for an interview. This interview was recorded back in 2019, but we are now able to bring you all the cool information we gleaned from talking with this industry legend. Larry Houston was the first person-of-color to work on storyboards for Saturday morning cartoons. Since then he has worked on many animated series as both a storyboard artist and a director, most prominently on the X-Men and Fantastic Four animated series. He was the first person to bring animated representations of The Black Panther to the small screen – first with a cameo on X-Men and later with an episode of The Fantastic Four in which the hero was voiced by fan-favorite, Keith David. Although retired, Larry still works in entertainment, drawing comics such as his series, The Enforcers. We sat down with Larry to talk about his beginnings in the industry, his volume of work, his mindset when adapting properties, working with Stan Lee, and so much more.

The 42cast Episode 94: The Elliot Chapman Interview

The 42cast is proud to welcome Elliot Chapman for an interview. In Doctor Who circles, Chapman is best known for playing the role of companion Ben Jackson in Big Finish’s Companion Chronicles and Early Adventures. We talk with Chapman about his career prior to acting, getting started in the profession, and getting cast at Big Finish. We also discuss his opinions on Doctor Who (spoilers: He’s a fan!), how he approaches recreating a character created by another actor, what it’s like working with co-stars Anneke Wills and Frazer Hines, and working with Tom Baker. We close things out by talking to him about why he’s leaving the character behind and what he’s looking to do in the future.
