Hawkeye was the last in the first wave of Disney+ Marvel series. The show introduced Hawkeye successor, Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld. It also debuted new character, Echo, as well as saw the return of Vince D’Onofrio as the Kingpin and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. In this episode we discuss the plot of the Hawkeye series. We talk about it’s place in the MCU and how well it meshes with the various characters and references that it makes. We also give our opinions on the performances and how we feel the various characters are utilize. We also get into some of the deeper cuts and talk about a very unexpected character that makes an appearance.

Jessica Jones was a popular series as part of Marvel’s “edgy” series developed for Netflix. The series can currently be found on Disney+. In this episode we take a look at Jessica Jones season 3. We discuss the evolution of the characters and and the development of themes that extend back to the beginning of the series. We talk about the overall plot of the series and what we think of the various decisions made by the writers. We also discuss the end of Marvel’s Netflix line as a whole and whether we’d like to see any aspects of it come back in the future.
The announcement of The Book of Boba Fett excited a lot of people. Continuing the story of the character from the Mandalorian, the set up implied that the titular character would assume the role of a crime boss, running his operations from the outpost of Tatooine. In actuality the show turned a sharp corner, depicting the former bounty hunter as a virtuous but naïve warrior trying to change Tatooine into an egalitarian society. In this episode we discuss Boba’s role as Prince of the Deep Dune Sea. We talk about whether we felt that the plot worked as well as discussing Boba and his supporting cast’s character. Along the way we’ll talk about references to other series and whether or not they were dealt with well. We also get into the Mandalorian Trojan Horse episodes and whether they distracted from Boba’s story. We end things by debating what we would do with a second season of this series.
The Marvel Netflix series garnered a large amount of support in the brief time that they were available. With Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil it was only a matter of time before rumors spread of others of the Netflix “Defenders” being folded into the MCU. Jon Bernthal is at the center of many of those proving that there’s still an audience for his interpretation of The Punisher. In this episode we take a look at the second season of that series. We discuss the pacing and why it worked for some and didn’t for others. We talk about the new characters and how they effected Frank’s journey. We also get into the choices made to further season one’s story and whether we felt that worked. We finish up by asking whether we’d like to see future seasons of the series on Disney+.
