We all have them. They’re the series that got away. They’re the things that we think about with a wistful “what if..?” as we contemplate what would have happened if one of our favorite series had continued. In this episode we dive deep into the nostalgia well. We discuss the series that we loved that never made it past two seasons. We talk about why we liked them and why we felt like they deserved another shot.
This week’s five-minute controversy asks that in light of James Gunn saying that the DCU would only do one live-action series per year, if it is a good expenditure of their time to work on a Jimmy Olsen-centric series.
This week Annie; Page; Felicity; and newcomer, Assad, join the cast.

The 90’s was a time of great innovation in animation. The medium had been dominated by stand-alone episodes and simple storylines for decades. In the 90’s even the traditional networks’ programming pushed the envelope. More series with serialized storytelling were being told. An overall movement advanced to tell stories with more grown-up themes and utilizing plots and humor that would appeal across an entire family instead of just to kids. In this episode we discuss the cartoons of the 90’s. We talk about some of the themes and recurring elements throughout the decade. We also give out some of our favorite animated series of this era.
Greetings, chums! The Tick has been entertaining us in various media for over 25 years. The Wild Blue Yonder is a fun character, often waffling between silly and profound, while telling offbeat superhero tales. In this episode we briefly discuss his comic origins before discussing his rise to popularity through the animated series on Fox Kids. We also talk about the two live action iterations, first on Fox and then on Amazon Prime. We talk about why the character endures, what our favorite incarnations are, and how we’d like the Tick’s adventures to continue. We also discuss his supporting cast and the crazy, offbeat villains that have been such a signature for the show.
